"Molecular Anthropology in the Genomic Era"

This article would be an apt one for students to read during reading period when deciding whether or not to take the course. While the majority of the body of this article chronicles a meeting between anthropologists representing a number of important sub-fields - such as molecular anthropology - its first few pages documents the progress made in the field of molecular anthropology made in recent years thanks to new technologies and provides an overview of the evolution of the field molecular anthropology itself. This article explains a number of modern achievements in molecular anthropology, including the sequencing the human genome to discoveries of human origins, human evolutionary and their migratory patterns - all of which were achieved through analyzing human DNA using modern molecular anthropological tools.

In contrast to the previous articles I have posted recently, this article (whose link, as with my other posts, has been provided below) is an overview of molecular anthropology and how it has evolved as a field over the last few decades, rather than an article about studies which are quite technical and require a good deal of background knowledge to understand.
